Non-standard Office Lounge Chair Production

non-standard office lounge chair

Is non-standard Office Lounge Chair well treated by the factory? In commercial projects, standard products are only the starting point. What truly matters is how a supplier responds when requirements change—especially when budget, materials, and dimensions all need adjustment.

This project is a good example of how we work closely with our customer to turn a premium office lounge chair into a cost-controlled, project-ready solution, without compromising functionality or comfort.

The Original Premium Configuration

This chair was originally designed with high-end specifications:

  • Hand-sewn stitching for refined upholstery details
  • Aluminum base, offering a modern look and durability
  • Seat height range: 41–50 cm, suitable for most office lounge settings

It’s a configuration often chosen for executive offices, lounges, and high-end commercial spaces.

Adjusting Materials to Meet the Target Price

For this particular project, the customer had a clear target price and asked whether we could optimize materials while keeping the overall design and seating comfort.

After discussion, we proposed:

  • Changing hand-sewn stitching to nail-stitching, reducing labor cost while maintaining a clean appearance
  • Replacing the aluminum base with a metal base, achieving better cost control without affecting stability

These adjustments helped the customer stay within budget while keeping the chair suitable for commercial use.

Customizing Seat Height for Project Requirements

Beyond materials, the project also required a non-standard seat height:

  • First customization: seat height adjusted to 53 cm based on the customer’s specific application. We communicated to customer it is too high for normal people, the mechanism is fixes, the height cannot be adjusted. Even though from American and European, no one request such seat height.
  • Later revision: the customer requested a change to 48 cm, and we updated the production details accordingly

Seat height may seem like a small detail, but in project environments, it directly affects ergonomics, user experience, and consistency with other furniture on site. We treat these details seriously and ensure they are accurately executed.

What This Project Shows

This case reflects how we approach project orders:

  • We listen carefully to real project constraints
  • We optimize materials and structure instead of simply saying “no”
  • We remain flexible even when requirements change during the process

Our role is not just to supply chairs, but to provide practical, reliable furniture solutions that work in real commercial spaces.
