The design story
Charles’ idea was that the seat would have a warm covering like a baseball glove. Interestingly, the Eames Lounge Chair was originally designed by Charles & Ray Eames as a special birthday gift for their friend Billy Wilder, the famous Hollywood director of the 50s and 60s.
